The goal of Re-Cycle Italy project is the exploration and development of new cycles of life for those spaces, those elements, those parts of the city and the territory that have lost meaning, use or attention. The research is based on the desire to intertwin the scientific debate and the specific demands of new directions in building, to reveal the links between strategies and to redefine the existing theory, with a view to curb the waste of land and resources and enhance the existing heritage. This volume, with the purpose of outlining the objectives and the key-content of research, presents three parts: the introduction draws the goals of research, in the Re-Cycle Italy chapter the coordinators of the eleven Research Units define accents and meanings of a draft revision of the role of the project all around Italy. The third part of the book explains the structure of the research, the network of researchers, national and international partners involved, the case studies and the activities to be carried out in these three years of work.
